This is an electic night of acoustic, transglobal, electronic and avant-garde instrumental music in the local community around Kiju Coffee House, tucked away at the back of Battersea's Queenstown station (behind the main Sainsburys). We are different from other open mics with our transglobal and eclectic instrumentalists who join us at Kiju Coffeehouse, an all Vietnamese women led member of the Canvas Collective supporting community well being at your doorstep along wirh great music! FREE AUDIENCE ENTRY (suggested £5 goes to your speciality teas, Vietnamese coffee and nibbles!) Kiju Coffee House is a member of the CANVAS COLLECTIVE supporting local well-being and making interesting nights for locals and Londoners to come in for free to meet in a non-extrovert and genuinely more authentic way around local grassroots performers. Unlike pubs and noisy spaces, Kiju Coffeehouse has a dedicated acoustic hall with double height ceilings where diverse acoustic music (unamplified) to performance or electronic music grow respectfully on the listeners. Instrumentalists; self penned songwriters, transglobal, world musicians and contemporary electronic modular synth and compositional showcase welcome. Evening starts 6pm [registration for performers]. Audience welcome to come in and savour Kiju's fantastic range of bespoke drinks and Vietnamese coffee and bakes! Music starts with sign up at 6pm and kick off with critical mass until 9pm Audience: All welcome! Please note there is a stair case without a lift which may impair access unfortunately for those in wheelchairs. Under 18s welcome with parental consent/supervision. This is a non-alcohol venue - music comes first! Genre of Music: More than a singer-songwriter's open mic wielding out the oldies, this is an evening of diverse music across genres: from acoustic, self-penned writers, instrumental composers, electronic modular and synth fusion and electic performances pulled transglobally and cutting edge. Bring an open mind and willingness to discover what's new and non-mainstream! Set Up: Firewire USB, analogue microphone, standard XLR or 6.3mm Jack's supported via PA into acoustic 500Watt speakers (fine for electronic music output). This is all we need: the audience are respectful and silent. Set up: both acoustic (the space is respectfully quiet during performances); mic and standard acoustic PA. Backing tracks require pre-loading or standard 1/4 inch/Firewire USB input.
