| Notes | The acoustic-ish open mic at The Iron Horse in Sidcup is a thriving live music institution, built on mutual support and creative freedom, hosted by Tom Monks on fortnightly Mondays since 2014.
Come to the pub for 7:30pm to write your name on the board (be early as it does fill up quickly!), and the music starts at 8pm. Two songs each, plug and play, and play and stay! A stage piano and house guitar are available to use, plus live accompaniment if your voice is your instrument*. Keep setups quick, simple, and sonically suitable to help the night flow. ⛔️ backing tracks, drum kits, amps, stand-up, spoken word etc. aren't suitable, sorry! ⛔️ We're super proud to boast an enormous musical community of performers and spectators - but there's always room for new talent, so come and join us! We can offer live accompaniment of a pretty vast repertoire, If you'd like a copy, get in touch - and if you'd like to perform anything specific, give me plenty of notice and I'll happily learn it (except 'Valerie' or 'Sweet Caroline')! Karaoke, however, is a very different ballgame - but there are plenty of great local options if that's more your style! 🎸 Instrumentalist hoping to be paired up on the night? You're after a jam night rather than an open mic - and you're in luck, The Iron Horse has one too! Hosted by Dan Murphy on fortnightly Wednesdays (opposite weeks to the open mics) from 8:30pm, it's built on playing with others. Jam with the house band, with musical friends old and new, or even bring your own band - with a full amp and drum backline provided. Who knows - you might even meet a singing soulmate to form an act to bring back to the acoustic-ish stage, or maybe even beyond! |
